Hello everybody! Welcome back to Suburban Snacks, where we not only inform you of current Real Estate topics but also review a different food item every month! This month’s snack is… Coconut Macaroons! Before we review the snack, we’ll be explaining what RPAC does for Arizona. So first off, for any of those who don’t know RPAC stands for Realtors Political Action Committee. They are the advocates for Realtors when it comes to political decisions within the community. So they are vitally important and so much so that we decided to dedicate our 50th episode to their exposure! RPAC is able to support Realtors on a National, State, and Local level. However, for this video, we’re going to go into how they’ve impacted us locally. First off, they’ve helped pass no renter’s tax. A 2% tax on renters was proposed in 2009 and again in 2011 and their advocacy efforts helped oppose it both times. At an annual rental rate of $15,000, renters saved an additional $300. The Tucson Association of REALTORS® fought to keep housing providers and tenants together. Home and Property Advocates invested countless hours during the eviction moratorium assisting housing providers and tenants in receiving aid from the state and federal governments.
