Hello everybody my name is John Malozsak and welcome back to Suburban Snacks. This month’s snack is…pumpkin spice marshmallows! In this episode, we’ll be discussing whether or not recent buyers are preferring larger homes. According to Realtor Magazine, more Americans are wanting to upsize their homes. And they are also showing a desire to move closer to their family and friends since the pandemic. The article states that 17% of repeat buyers prefer a larger home and 18% of all buyers said they wanted to move closer to family & friends. So why did the pandemic cause people to want to move? Well once people realized that remote work had become an option, they no longer felt the need to stay in packed apartments. They’d rather move to the suburbs where they have more room. Naturally, when you move from a crowded apartment you’re going to want to get the best bang for your buck. For most Americans that looks like a larger home. No longer are people having to make home-buying decisions based on their commute. Some now have the opportunity to purchase based on their personal preference of location and size.
